It might not seem as if gamers and members of the military have anything in common, but they actually do: a hunger for challenge and achievements. With gamers this manifests as a compulsion to complete 100% of a game’s content (even beyond just beating the game), but in the military it means gaining as many medals, qualifications, and ribbons as possible, along with increasing one’s rank.
This infographic from MilitaryEducation.org gives you an overview of the various achievements, medals, ribbons and ranks available to members of the US Army by highlighting the accomplishments of two standout Army veteran soldiers, Audie L. Murphy (the most decorated Army veteran of all time) and William D. Hawkins (who is well known for what he achieved while being severely outnumbered).
