1957 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Scaglietti Coupe

Each 410 Superamerica had custom bodywork and was priced extremely high, more than double the price of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL “Gullwing.” About 30 examples were built before the series ended in 1959.

See the “wings”? Yes! “They” sold us “Wings” on 3000 pound + cars! We bought them! Goddamit! now we buy Honda’s Toyota’s Subaru’s, Datsun’s, Hyundai, – no wings – not necessary, 4 banger engines for economy, small, for economy, durable for resale values and long life. Too bad Detroit City didn’t catch on to this, and kept selling even sensless “muscle Cars” to a population that had grown economically adult.

@UncleB – while I semi-agree with the content of your post… you realise this is a FERRARI. Just because it has America in the name doesn’t make it an American car.

Is it only me or does this car remind me of the front face of a 1968 shelby GT 500 KR.
Actually thisis the other way around, looks like Shelby got inspired by this ferrari…

Seriously? You have something against the ‘space age’ wings on cars….?…
